Original Second World War German Iron Cross Second Class. Maker marked with PKZ-No. “113” on the ring, which is attributed to the firm Herman Aurich of Dresden. This is what is sometimes described as a Type 2 by collectors, and for additional information about this variation you may consult pages 391-400 of The Iron Cross 2. Class by Dietrich Marz and Mario Alt. Untouched and never cleaned worn condition, with the correct original ribbon. Worn examples are generally harder to find than unissued examples. #PR14 War Merit Cross with Swords, cased
Original Second World War German War Merit Cross with Swords in case of issue. The award is unmarked and constructed from a zinc casting with silver finish, featuring die cast hinge and catch, with metal pin. The award is in excellent condition, showing only some patina and tarnish from age, there is clear evidence from the impressions in the case that it has been in the box forever. The case is in good condition, showing some wear from sitting around on a shelf, the hinge is simple fabric construction which works fine but needs to be treated with care when opening and closing. This is a great set. $300

#PR16 Close Combat Clasp in Bronze, Josef Feix & Söhne
Original Second World War German Close Combat Clasp (CCC) in Bronze produced by the firm Josef Feix & Söhne of Gablonz. The bronze brennlack finish is over 70% intact and this badge has never been cleaned or messed with in any way. The hinge is in good working order and none of the parts are loose. In addition to the maker’s mark “JFS” there is also a designers mark “FEC.W.E. PEEKHAUS BERLIN”. The JFS CCC is covered in Thomas Durante’s excellent book “The German Close Combat Clasp” on pages 206-227. This is the 1st Pattern of the badge produced by this firm, given the location of the marker mark near the catch, and raised lip of metal holding the hinge place. This badge also features the full cross-guard to the on the bayonet, as opposed to the chamfered version. Great example. $625

#PR5 Close Combat Clasp in Bronze, A.G.M.u.K.
Original Second World War German Close Combat Clasp (CCC) in Bronze produced by Arbeitsgemeinschaft Metall und Kunststoff, or “A.G.M.u.K.” located in the city of Gablonz. This was not an individual company, but a consortium of metal and synthetic material manufacturers who shared production materials, hardware fittings, and machinery for the production of uniforms and accoutrements. These CCC’s are known to have the most detailed obverse designs of any maker. In addition to the maker’s mark “AUSF. A.G.M.u.K. GABLONZ” there is also a designers mark “FEC.W.E. PEEKHAUS BERLIN”. This is the “double side crimps” version of the badge, additional information on this exact variant is located on pages 96-97 of Thomas Durante’s excellent book “The German Close Combat Clasp”. The hinge is in good working order and none of the parts are loose, the plate is still tightly in place, and the catch is crimped into the reverse with a large dome. The bronze brennlack finish is largely intact but there are some spots of corrosion and white residue that we haven't made any attempt to clean and the badge is as-found. There are a few minor chips to the oak lefts on the left edge of the back looking at the front. Overall, a good example. $375

#PR9 Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, Arno Wallpach
Original Second World War German Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge (LGAB) produced by the firm Arno Wallpach of Salzburg (Austria). The badge is a one piece zinc casting with silvered finish, the clouds and earth mound are factory painted in dark grey. The reverse of the badge features die cast hinge and very fat die cast catch. As typical with late war badges, the silvered finish has turned mostly to a grey patina and some of the grey paint has flaked off, but overall it’s in good condition and has never been cleaned or tampered with. Original Second World War German Anti-Aircraft Flak Battle Badge. This is a two-piece badge constructed of zinc with solid back and no makers information. The construction and materials suggest late-war production. The pin is a little bit bent and there’s some zinc pitting near the reverse, but overall it’s a nice honest example. $275

#PR10 Heer Flak Artillery Badge, G.H. Osang
Original Second World War German Heer Flak Artillery Badge produced by the firm G.H. Osang of Dresden. High quality heavy duty construction, with makers mark “GH OSANG DRESDEN” on the reverse behind the pin. The hinge and catch are factory soldered in place. #PR6 Minesweeper’s War Badge, Adolf Scholze
Original Second World War German Minesweeper’s War Badge produced by the firm Adolf Scholze of Gablonz. The maker’s mark “AS” is present on the reverse behind the pin. This is the late war version produced of silvered zinc with factory silver painted exploding waves and sea. As typical with late war badges that the silvered finish has turned mostly to a grey patina and some of the silver paint has worn off, but overall it’s in good condition and has never been cleaned or tampered with. $185

#PR14 Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, M.K.6.
Original Second World War German Infantry Assault Badge (IAB) in Silver. Maker marked on the reverse “M.K.6.” which is currently a bit of a mysterious maker. One current theory is that the MK may stand for Arbeitsgemeinschaft Metall und Kunststoff, located in the city of Gablonz. This was not an individual company, but a consortium of metal and synthetic material manufacturers who shared production materials, hardware fittings, and machinery for the production of uniforms and accoutrements. You can do additional research on this theory and this maker by consulting pages 69, 84-85 of The Infantry Assault Badge by Sascha Weber. This badge is in service worn condition, and much of the silver finish has turned to grey patina, with the finish best preserved on the reverse, the published example on page 84-85 shows similar wear. This example is from an unknown maker, and is constructed from stamped silvered buntmetall with wire catch on tiny plate and simple hinge on big plate. This example is in worn condition, and the silver finish has turned to a dark patina, and it has not been cleaned or messed with in any way. $185

This example is from an unknown maker, and is constructed from stamped zinc with bronze finish, featuring sheet metal hinge and crimped wire catch soldered in place on the reverse. This example is worn condition and has turned mostly to a dark patina, with traces of the bronze finish remaining in the depressions. It has never been cleaned or messed with in any way. Original Second World War German Silver Wound Badge (SWB) in case of issue. The SWB is constructed of zinc with brass pin, die-cast hinge and catch. The badge and case do not have any makers information present. The case is in good working order, with a little bit of rust that formed on the hinge. The set is untouched and never cleaned, with clear impressions that suggest that badge has been inside of it forever. Great set. $265

This badges are known for developing a patina that gives a dripping silver wash appearance. #PA1 Black Wound Badge, Friedrich Orth
Original Second World War German Black Wound Badge (BWB) issued to all branches of the Wehrmacht for those who received a wound in battle. Maker marked with PKZ-No. “L/14” on the reverse, attributed to the firm Friedrich Orth, Wien. Mid to late war factory painted steel example after the switch from brass which was diverted to other war efforts. As often encounter with this maker, there is oxidation on the reverse caused by the excessive amount of flux used in the soldering process. If you wish, you may cover the affected area with a very thin layer of vaseline, so the metal is no longer in contact with the atmospheric oxygen. Worn condition, with working pin and catch assembly, never been cleaned or tampered with. $55

Original Second World War "Ostfront" Eastern Front service medal. Sometimes referred by veterans as the "frozen meat" medal due to the horrors encountered on the frozen Eastern front during 1941-1942. These medals were constructed of zinc, and were notorious for being of poor quality with bubbling to the finish. Original Second World War "Ostfront" Eastern Front service medal. #PA49 Mother’s Cross in Bronze with Award Document
Original Second World War Mother’s Cross in Bronze with Award Document. Background: The Third Reich gave significant recognition to the importance of a woman's role and motherhood to create a strong Germany, leading to the creation of the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter (Cross of Honour of the German Mother). The Bronze Cross was awarded to eligible mothers with four or five children. The award and paperwork are both in good condition, never cleaned or tampered with, showing honest age and patina. Both items were discovered together in Canada. $125

#EC194 Third Reich DRL Gold German Sports Badge, Ernst L. Müller
Original Third Reich DRL (German National Association for Physical Exercise) German National Award for Physical Fitness (Deutsche Reichsauszeichnung für Leibesübungen) or better known as the German Sports Badge. This is the gold version of the award. The vertical attachment device to the rear is intact. The badge is lightly worn. The rear of the badge is maker-marked to the firm of Ernst L. Müller in Pforzheim, Germany, and there is the standard DRGM copyright marking. $150

#WS1 War Merit Medal with Envelope
Original Second World War German War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille) with envelope. This award was discovered and consigned from South Africa, and is presumably a war trophy from a Union of South Africa soldier serving with the British Empire forces in the North African campaign. The condition of the badge reflects having come from the desert, there is no ribbon present. $35

#EC109 War Merit Medal with Issue Envelope & Ribbon Bar
Original Second World War German War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille) with black, red, and white ribbon. 'Für Kriegsverdienst 1939' (For War Merit 1939) is embossed to one side. Also included is a lightly worn issue envelope and a War Merit Medal ribbon bar with intact attachment device. 'LDO' (Administration of German Orders Manufacturers) is stamped to the front of the envelope. The War Merit Medal was instituted on 19 August, 1940 and awarded to civilians for outstanding service in relation to the war effort. $75

#EC208 Italian-German Africa Campaign Medal
Original Second World War Italian-German Africa Campaign Medal instituted in 1942 by Fascist Italy to both Italian and German troops who served in the North African campaign of 1940-1943. Die-struck embossed bronze-washed tombac medal. On the obverse of the medal is the manufacturer's name of 'Lorioli Milano' and the designer's name of 'De Marchis'. Complete with a well-worn piece of correct rayon ribbon in both Italian and German national colours attached to the ribbon suspension ring. $175

Original Second World War German Deutsche Rote Kreuz (DRK / German Red Cross) Medaille fur Deutsche Volkspflege Vierte Stufe (Social Welfare Medal 4th Class). Circular alloy medal measuring approximately 38mm in diameter. Medal ring and ribbon suspension ring still present along with original ribbon. The 4th Class Medal was awarded to military ranks of Leutnant and below who were involved with the care of sick & wounded personnel. $100

Original Second World War German Luftwaffe (Air Force) Observer's badge in case of issue. Awarded to those who participated in five operational flights over enemy territory or a minimum of two months active service. Two piece construction with desirable stylized "A" maker mark on reverse, representing the firm F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. Both the award and case are in good condition showing some age, patina, and oxidation that has never been cleaned. The badge appears to have been lightly worn. All components are in working over, including the closure clasp on the box and pin on reverse of the award. A nice set with great details. $1150

The bronze brennlack finish is over 90% intact and this badge has never been cleaned or messed with in any way. The hinge is in good working order and none of the parts are loose. The JFS CCC is covered in Thomas Durante’s excellent book “The German Close Combat Clasp” on pages 206-227. This is the 2nd Pattern of the badge produced by this firm, given the location of the marker mark and four separate tabs for the hinge crimping. Original Second World War German Fallschirmschützenabzeichen (Parachutists Badge) produced by the firm Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. The reverse of the badge is marked with LDO code L/64 below Assmann & Söhne “A” logo, with wreath component marked “2” representing the second of four dies used by the firm. There are also the correct die-struck injection mold signs present. The hinge is in good working order, and none of the parts are loose. Original Second World War German Iron Cross 1st class complete with case of issue. There is a lazy "7" stamped on the exterior of the pin, attributed to the firm Paul Meyhauer.
