The set includes: two 48th Highlanders shoulder titles, with thick wartime style lettering (This type of shoulder title is also shown on page 87 of Bill Alexander’s book “Fabric of War”), two badge grade felt 1st Division formation badges, one-year overseas wartime service chevron, and ribbon for the CVSM. For additional confirmation, we compared the 1st Division formation badges to a Canadian 1942 sealed sample we had access to and the material is essentially identical. $225

These badges are described as an English made version of the Canadian made “Type 1” and appear in wear in period photographs later in the war. Excellent unused example. Original Second World War yellow epaulette slip on for members of 1 Canadian Parachute Battalion. These yellow slips on were to distinguish the wearer as a soldier of a Canadian unit, these were worn by members of 1 Can Para on D-Day and operations in North West Europe. These were worn on the epaulette of the battle dress tunic and also the Denison smock. This is a textbook original example of this mega rare insignia item, these are heavily faked and originals such as this one reside in only the most advanced collections, very few originals ever come to market. Original Second World War pair of Canadian 1st Armoured Carrier Regiment shoulder titles. These are locally made silk woven examples produced in Belgium or Holland and issued to Canadian soldiers while in theatre. Collectors refer to this title as the "Type 1” as there was also a "Type 2" variety that was locally produced later in the war from melton wool.
