#CD451 1943 D-Day Style Commonwealth Flotation Device
Original WWII Commonwealth D-Day style invasion flotation device. Used by Canadian and British soldiers. Excellent example without any damage, British made and dated 1943. There is also a stencil saying it was re-inspected in 1943 (Probably after an initial use). Given the early date, this is one of the best we’ve had so far and it was actually used. $165

#BS195 Wireless Set No. 22
Original WWII Wireless Set No. 22. This 22 Set consists of the transceiver and still has its original grill and canvas protective cover. A period copy of the No. 22 working instructions pamphlet is also included. Background; The Wireless Set No.22 was a Second World War general-purpose low-power vehicle and ground station with facilities for man or animal pack. The set was intended as a primary vehicle station with facilities for quick removal from the vehicle to be used as a ground station. It had a range of up to 20 miles (~ 32 kilometers) and is noteworthy for being used by airborne troops, artillery forward observers, and anti-aircraft units. The general appearance, dimensions and frequency range resemble the Wireless Set 19, but the set is technically completely different. The set is being sold as-is, we don’t know what components may still be in working order. Due to weight, this item is available for pickup in Ottawa, or at the Ottawa or Toronto militaria shows, arranged in advance. $975 ($1300 CAD)

Original WWII Canadian aerial gear bag. Constructed of high grade leather with heavy duty metal rivets and buckles. Nicely marked and featuring several C broad arrows. Excellent condition, the leather is still supple and in good working order. $110

Original WWII U.S. made M13 spare parts roll with a nice Canadian military broad arrow property stamp on the inside of the front closure flap. Used to service the M1919 Browning 30-cal machine guns (Vehicle, aircraft, & ship mounted) in Canadian service. The inside of the roll contains 9 marked individual compartments. In excellent unissued condition. Unusual to find Canadian marked examples. $40

#CD639 Map Reading Lamp CNo2 MK2
Original WWII British / Commonwealth "LAMP, MAP READING, CNo2 MK2" "CGB 92 GA" produced by "A.CROSS & CO. LIMITED". Constructed of bakelite, the bulb is still intact inside, but we have not tested it. Background; these lamps were used to illuminate and magnify military maps in tactical settings at night. #EC158 British Machete & Scabbard
Original WWII British / Commonwealth machete with brown leather scabbard. The machete was manufactured by S&J Kitchen Ltd in 1945 indicated by the markings on the left side of the blade, and the scabbard was produced by P.L.I. in 1944 indicated on the rear of the belt loop. A broad arrow British military property marking is present on top of the date on the machete and also below the maker and date markings on the scabbard. Background; This model of machete was issued during the Second World War to a wide selection of soldiers from the Chindits in the Jungles of Burma to clear a jungle patch, or to machine gunners to clear out a gun position and chop up branches to make a camouflage cover. Most military vehicles contained one in the tool kit, for clearing a patch through woods, chopping branches for camouflage plus the essential gathering of wood for a fire and a brew of tea. $200

The machete was manufactured by J.J.B. in 1945 indicated by the markings on the left side of the blade, and the scabbard was produced by Blackman Leather Goods in 1944 indicated on the rear of the belt loop. A broad arrow British military property marking is present to the right of the maker and date on the machete. #CD633 Pattern 1914 Leather Sling
Original WWII British / Commonwealth Pattern 1914 leather sling. Early WWII example produced by "T. TAYLOR & CO" in 1940. These slings were common during WWI and were briefly re-introduced at the beginning of WWII. This type of sling will fit standard service rifles of the era including the SMLE, Ross, and P14. Excellent condition, very lightly used if at all. Hard sling to find on the loose. $65

#CD568 1943 Thermos Flask
Original WWII Commonwealth Thermos flask. Complete with original lid, cork seal, and fully intact glass liner. Maker marked "THERMOS" on the bottom with British broad arrow and "1943" date of production. Canadian and  British soldiers made extensive use of Thermos flasks to keep liquids warm for personnel who would go long periods without access to facilities to warm tea or soup. This included aircrew, paratroopers, AFV crew, and glider crew who could all spend long periods locked down in their vehicles without a hot drink; a Thermos of hot tea was a godsend to these men and a way of fighting off cold and keeping alert. The period photo shows D-Day paratroopers of the British 6th Airborne with a Thermos flask stored in khaki padded carrier in the back of the plane for the trip to the drop zone. This is an excellent example of the famous Thermos. $265

#BS191 Toolmakers Spring-Type Caliper and Divider
Original WWII British / Commonwealth toolmakers spring type caliber and divider. Maker marked Moore & Wright of Sheffield England, with electro pencil British broad arrow over the letter S and the year 1944 markings on the top of the spring. Mint working condition with original pliofilm protector still over the steel tips. Intended for wartime engineering, these spring type calipers and dividers were also used in shops and for measuring distances on maps as they provided a great deal of accuracy for various tasks. Interesting accessory. $35

#CD291 Heavy Duty Ammunition / Utility Carrier
Original WWII British heavy duty ammunition utility carrier. This rare piece of British / Commonwealth field gear is an early tactical vest with front and rear pouches and padded shoulders for carrying heavy munitions such as mortar rounds. Seen in period photos used by elite units including Airborne soldiers to more efficiently carry ammunition on the battle field. Similar in design to what is now used by the military as an armoured plate carrier. Maker marked and dated 1944 on the straps. Scarce piece of field gear. $450

#BS146 RCASC South Alberta Regiment Duffel Bag
Original WWII Canadian Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC), 4th Armoured Division, South Alberta Regiment, personalized duffel bag of Trooper "S. Gillies".  The South Alberta Regiment was the Armoured Recce Regiment of the 4th Armoured Division, and were deployed to Northern France in June 1944 taking part in the later battles of the invasion of Normandy including Operation Totalize, closing the Falaise pocket, and Operation Tractable. They later participated in the liberation of the Netherlands and the Battle of the Scheldt.  In January 1945 they took part in the battle for the Kapelsche Veer and spent the last  weeks of the war in Northern Germany. Breakdown of markings on the duffel: the green square with maple leaf is the formation sign of 4th Armoured Division, below it the square with "45" represents the South Alberta Regiment, and Trooper Gillies has taken some artistic license by proudly placing it over top of the RCASC coloured unit sign of red and green. The Regimental Number "M50860" was assigned to No 13 District Depot (Alberta). We have not done any further research, but this has the potential to be an exciting research project for the next owner.  One of the coolest duffel bags we've handled so far! $750

Original WWII British / Canadian paratroopers knee pads. These were also issued to SOE for airborne operations.  Each knee pad is maker marked and dated 1943 with British broad arrow. Overall excellent / unissued condition, with some yellowing on the white stretchy material. Great pair of rare airborne knee pads. $145

Original WWII British Army winter gloves. Maker marked on the interior. These are British made but also issued to Canadian soldiers. The U.S. Army had a shortage of winter whites during the Battle of the Bulge and also acquired British kit. $20

#BS16 Canadian Issue Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. 6 x 30 Military Binoculars
Rare original WWII Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. military stereo 6 x 30 binoculars manufactured in Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A.  Marked on leather case and and on binoculars themselves with C broad arrow. Named in the case, and initials scratched into binoculars. Service used but very good condition. Neck lanyard and all other components complete and in good working order. We tested them outside, they seemed to work very well given the age with pretty good clarity. Nice set. $150

Signals cable reel for mounting on jeeps and fast establishment of communications lines. Shown in period photos mounted on airborne jeeps, but likely at times mounted on other vehicles and used by dismounted troops. This example is particularly nice in lightly used and sound condition, with strap and pouch still intact without damage. Perfect for jeep enthusiasts as well as signals and airborne collectors. Very scarce, particularly in this condition. $375

Original WWII P1937 Webbing pouch to hold either two Browning or 1911 magazines. Manufactured by M.E.Co. in 1943 and faintly marked on the back. In very good condition, the pouch has received a coat of blanco as commonly observed on service used British and Canadian field gear. These were used by British / Canadian paratroopers and other special forces who received the Browning or 1911. Scarce. *Sold*

Original WWII P37 MECo 1940 double magazine pouch for holding 1911 or hi-power magazines. We believe these were first manufactured for RAF issue Colt 1911's in .455 and other 1911's in .45 in service with the British military during this time. Mint condition without flaw. *Sold*

Original WWII Wireless Set No. 19. This 19 Set consists of the transceiver, mounting base (one foot has come loose but is present), and all the other accessories shown in the photos, including its original grills, vehicle antennae mount, and canvas protective cover. A full size antennae is also included. The antennae is still sealed in the original factory wooden crate dated 1945, and has not been opened. Background; The Wireless Set No. 19 was a Second World War mobile radio transceiver designed for use in tanks and armoured vehicles of the Commonwealth forces. First introduced in 1940, the No. 19 began to replace the pre-war Wireless Set No. 11. Two modified versions were introduced, Mk. II in 1941 and Mk. III in 1942. An improved version from Canada was introduced in 1942 for use primarily with other forces including Soviet Lend-Lease. The set is being sold as-is, we don’t know what components may still be in working order. #EC67 M.E.Co. 1942 Double Mag Pouch for Browning and M1911/A1
Original WWII Commonwealth P37 web pouch to hold either two Browning / Inglis Hi-Power or M1911 / M1911A1 magazines. Manufactured by M.E.Co. in 1942 and accordingly marked on the reverse with British broad arrow. The pouch is in good field used condition, with hand applied "blanco" webbing camouflage paste. These were used by British / Canadian Airborne troops, Commando's, and other elite units who were issued the Browning or 1911. The rarest and most desirable piece of P37 webbing. *Sold*

#CD287 Canadian P37 Small Pack with Contents, Cpl Jullien
Original WWII Canadian P37 "Small" pack with contents and souvenirs brought home from WWII by Cpl Jullien. Packs like this almost never come around, Cpl Jullien wore this pack home at the end of hostilities and it has essentially sat undisturbed with contents. The small pack itself is in great condition with Cpl Jullien's Regimental Number stencilled in several places for identification. Their are many desirable contents including; Canadian mess tin with bag, Canadian suspenders with textbook "police" buckles, standard issue Army compass (likely a souvenir he used overseas), standard issue multi-tool with lanyard, shaving kit, button polisher, horsehair brush, grooming kit and housewife, small pair of scissors, Khaki web cleaner (Canadian made) and a spare set of issue underwear. Also included is a photo copy of Cpl Jullien's file from Library & Archives Canada.  Cpl Jullien attested on 19 August 1940 and served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps overseas in Italy and Northwest Europe. He earned the following medals; 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, CVSM & Clasp, and War Medal 1939-45.  Really impressive time capsule small pack with lots of research potential and full file to read. *Sold*
